It starts with a dream and having the right mindset but a key aspect of success is Working Smarter. This means learning how to work your business like a business, how to create & implement systems, how to prioritize, how to handle the technical and financial side of your business so you are making money and not sacrificing all your time.
Living Better begins with learning how to use your own strengths, personality and experiences to become an authentic marketer & leader that is focused on helping and serving others in your business (and your life). It also means developing the habits of success so that you can actually live the life you have always imagined.
I believe that we each have to define what success means to us. I am not going to tell you that you have to be top in your company, making a million bucks or anything else specific to be considered successful. (If that is your idea of success then we can totally work towards those goals though!) It is all about the goals, dreams and ideal life that YOU want to achieve for YOUR own life. This is your journey and it’s time to make the most of it!

How my life got flipped, turned upside down & I became the CEO ofMe®:
My journey to becoming a CEO of Me® was most definitely an unexpected one. It begin one fall day in 2006 when my boss called me into the boardroom and told me to pack up my personal belongings because he was letting me go. I was a shy, 25 year old, single woman, living on her own, who had less than $1000 in the bank. I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do when I walked out the door that day. I was scared. I was devastated.
I was also relieved. Relieved because I hated that job. Relieved because I was not made for the 8-5 corporate world. Relieved because deep down inside, I had always known I was wanted something different for my life, something that made me feel alive, worthwhile and purposeful. I was never one who was happy going with the flow or doing the traditional things. I don’t think I would have ever had the courage to start my own business had I not been fired from that job though. What I thought was going to be one of the worst days of my life turned into one of the best things that ever happened to me! (Isn’t God’s plan amazing & so much better than we could ever plan for ourselves?)
Believe it or not, when I started in direct sales it was for the discount. I said I would never hold a party or build a business! It was just three months later that I lost my job. (Never say never, right?) I still did not really think I could be successful in direct sales. I needed an income so I decided to pursue the business and see what happened. I seriously had nothing, nothing to lose. I was working a part time job at a tanning salon and mostly living off credit cards at this point.
I never thought my direct sales business would turn into a full time income in just a few months time. I had no idea that companies would give you free trips, free cars, recognition & products all while paying you to party and help others start their own business. I never dreamed it would give me the confidence to do so many things I had been terrified of before. I had no idea how many amazing people, connections, friendships, fun and memories it would give me. I would have never expected all the doors that would open and opportunities that would present themselves to me because of being a home & online based business owner.
You see it’s not really about how much money you make, how many prizes you earn, how many accolades and how much recognition you receive. The real reward of owning your own home or online based small business is how you can use all of those benefits to help you achieve the bigger goals and dreams you have for your life (& your family) and how it allows you to let your light shine so you can positively impact the lives of others in the world.
Why I started CEO of Me® & became a Success Coach:
I realized that most people who start a home or online based business often start out like I did. Not really knowing what to do, how to do it or where to go to find out what they should do. I originally started CEO of Me® as a blog in 2011 to share my ideas, tips, training (and a bunch of other random stuff that has since been moved to a personal blog).
I have always enjoyed and been most passionate about teaching and coaching others, helping them develop their strengths and the skills to be successful to reach their own goals. In 2013, I decided to turn CEO of Me into a legit business by trademarking, officially incorporating and beginning the process of becoming a Small Business Success Coach. In 2014 started coaching and offering my products and services. It has been such a blessing, honor and pure joy to now be able to help so many women (and men) all around the world in creating a business & life that they love!
What makes me qualified to be a Success Coach:
In the past eight years as an Independent Director & Team Leader with my direct sales company, I have been in the Top 20 Directors in the US/Canada multiple times, earned the keys & title to my own free hard top convertible, earned several free trips and have led my team to the top in recognition multiple times among many other accomplishments. I have trained at my company’s annual conference as well as multiple regional events and more team meetings & 1 on 1 business planning sessions than I can count (Let’s see 3-4 a week times 52 weeks times 8 years equals…)
I have also been successful at making an income through online marketing, freelance writing, blogging and working with numerous brands on sponsored content and campaigns over the past 5 years on several websites. I have received recognition as one of the Top 50 Blogs for Work at Home Women from The Work at Home Woman the past two years in a row. I have experience in web hosting, WordPress set up & design, as well as graphic design. (Random fun fact: I owned a successful WordPress Custom Design business for 2 & 1/2 years working with over 80 clients and have designed or worked on over 120 different websites.)
I have attended numerous intensive training classes for small business owners, Internet marketers & direct sales leaders over the past 8 years through my company and many other business coaches and organizations. I have completed the Heart Centered Coaching Program from the DSWA.
I believe that life experience most always trumps technical training but it was important for me to become an accredited Life Coach too. I am currently completing my certification to be a Life Coach and my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences & Psychology through Liberty University in conjunction with the American Association of Christian Coaches (AACC). I also recently completed certification for Christian Counseling for Women through the AACC.
I am an ambitious, driven and not afraid to take on a challenge to go against the flow. I am skilled at creating systems, marketing authentically both online and in person and helping others shift their mindset but I am not pushy or in your face. I believe in coaching through empowerment and servant leadership. Because nice girls (and boys) can be super successful too.
A little bit more about me:
I always tell people that I am the girl next door from a small southern town in NC who believes in dreaming big, working hard, loving your family, serving God and making a difference in the world. If you met me in person you might be surprised that I am only 5 feet tall. I tend to be more reserved and quiet until I get to know you then it’s hard to get me to stop talking. I often care too much what other people think about me and it has taken me a long time to learn how to be comfortable with my authentic introverted self. I have struggled all my life with anxiety and depression. I have had to work (and continue to work) really hard at re-framing my thought process to be more positive & making mindset shifts that have helped me be more successful. (I can help you with doing the same!)
If I can manage to actually finish a book, it would be a book about how something works, personal development or about people who have overcome obstacles or have an inspiring story. My favorite TV shows are The Golden Girls, The Office (US edition) & Antiques Roadshow. I am happiest when I am creating – whether that is crafts, DIY or organization projects, writing, developing training or coding yet another new design for one of my websites or creating memories with friends and family here at home or out on adventures and traveling.

Hebrews 10:23-24 describes what I hope to accomplish with this site & my life: “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”
