Each weekend some of my family members and I gather at my grandparents house to enjoy some quality family time. We usually catch up what’s going on in everyone’s lives and sometimes play board games or watch movies. Of course, no gathering would be complete without some snacks and sweet treats!
This past weekend I decided I wanted to bring a pie for our Sunday night gathering. However I did not have the time (or the patience) to make a pie myself. Thankfully, Mrs. Smith’s had me covered with their new Mrs. Smith’s Signature Deep Dish pies.
There are four different Signature Deep Dish pie flavors to choose from: Dutch Apple Pie with Caramel Sauce, Peach Pie with Cream Cheese Icing, Pumpkin Pie with Cream Cheese Icing and Cherry Pie with Butter Fudge Sauce. I decided to go with the Dutch Apple Pie because that is my grandmother’s favorite pie.
Making the pie could not be any easier. You simply bake it for 40-50 minutes then with the Dutch Apple pie, you add the streusel topping that comes with it on top and bake another 20 minutes. The package recommended letting the pie cool for 2 hours, but we could not wait that long to dig in.
It was delicious and just as good (if not better) as a homemade pie. The apples were crisp and the filling was sweet. I think the streusel topping is what made the pie perfect though. It also comes with Caramel sauce you could add to make it a little more decadent. The only work you have to do is bake it and take it out of the oven then just enjoy it. It does not get any easier or better than that!
